World's Most Expensive Hobbies

1. Rightfully touted as the most expensive cigar in the wold, the Gurkha's premier
cigar. His Majesty's Reserve, aren't just made with premium tobacco - they're
also infused with a generous portion of Louis XIII Cognac in a process that
retains the flavour of the tobacco. Each year, fewer than 100 boxes of His
Majesty's Reserve cigars are produced and Gurkha's president oversees their
allocation to retailers. The cost: USD 750 per cigar.

2. Created by Luis Vuitton, the Damier Geant Golf Bag is priced at USD 9,750. A fair
amount of cowhide went into the bag, as well, making up the piping, base and
parts of the removable strap. The bag features a zip-up hood, a number of
pockets, a rolling travel cover and even an umbrella to be used in case of
unexpected rain.

3. Owne by Aro Dynasty, a Dragon fish breeder based out of Singapore, this
particular aquatic vertebrate is 15" platinum arowana. Its white coloration is an
exceedingly rare mutation of the rather common arowana. Aro Dynasty has been
offered USD 80,000 for the fish. In fact, a UK importer even offered to buy the
fish for early USD 400,000.

4. The most expensive camel lives in the stable of Shiekh Hamdan, son of the ruler
of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan has no plans yet for the USD 2.72 million female camel
but it is known that female camels are faster than their male counterparts.
Especially important for a camel-race loving Gulf nation.

5. In 2006, the Million-Dollar Lure was first unveiled. Made of both golf and
platinum and adorned with over 4,000 diamonds and rubies, it weighs 100 carats
total. And don't think that it's just for show. It was actually used at the 26th
Annual Brisbee's Blach and Blue tournament in Baja California, the largest marlin-
fishing tournament in the world.

6. Starpics, an Australian company known for plectrums made of precious metals,
created a unique pair of guitar picks made of meteors. These two luxury picks
were fashioned from pieces of Gibeon meteorite. Said to be around four billion
years old, Gibeon meteorites were discovered in 1836 in Namibia, Africa. Over 25
tons of the meteorites have been recovered and it is the most commonly found
meteorite on the market today. One of the most interesting things about the
meteorites is the pattern of Widmanstatten lines created by their frigid passage
through space. These patterns are preserved in the picks. The price" USD 4,675.

7. The world's most expensive tennis racket is owned by female tennis star Amelie
Mauresmo. After winning the Diamond Games tournament in Antwerp, Belgium three
times in the last five years, she was presented with the golden racket which is
studded with 1,702 diamonds, giving it a record setting value of USD 1.3 million.

8. The most expensive piano in the world belonged to the Beatle's John Lennon and
was auctioned off to British pop-singer George Michael in 2000. Lennon compoised
and recorded the song "imagine" on it and was filmed playing the song on it for
the first time to wife Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band. Believed to be a piece
of British history by many, Michael bought the piano at an auction for about USD \
2.1 million.

9. The Beckhams brought a USD 50,000 tree house for their children. Created by Dutch
Wapenaar. The Treetent resembles an overgrown pear and features a nine-foot-
diameter hardwood floor, a round mattress that can comfortably fit two adults and
adjustable planetary landing steps. It is an excellent investment for people who
want to go camping without dealing with all that inconvient nature stuff.

10.So what's the most expensive comic book in the world? All serious comic book
collectors will be synonymous in their answer: DC's Action Comics No. 1 (1938).
Why? Because it contained the first glimpse of Superman. According to Scoop, a
comics newsletter, a Comics Guarantee (CGC) - certified 4.0 (very good condition)
copy of Action Comics No. 1 was sold for USD 195,000 in May of 2006.

WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE FASHION

1) The Dolce and Gabanna brown-tinted shades are framed in gold and appear to have the brand's logo written in diamonds. If you feel like splurging USD 383,609 on your luxury eyewear, the product number is DG2027B. Just make sure it's unisex or no matter how much you pay for it, you're bound to get slated by your mates if you're wearing women's shades.

2) Forget Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada, Edward Green, John Lobb and New & Lingwood. The most expensive men's shoes which fetch USD 1,830 per pair. Expensive you say? Well it's chump change when you compare it to women's most expensive shoes: Harry Winston USD 3 million ruby slippers.

3) The Hou Yi money clip, handmade by Chinese craftsman Li Bosheng, is made of 14k gold and high-grade sterling silver. The part that really makes this a special money clip, though, is the centerpiece- a hunk of chiselled Hetian jade. As it is only found in two rivers of Xinjiang, China, this white jade is extremely rare. In fact, it is likely that the supply will be completely depleted within five years. It is considered the most valuable jade in the world and was used by Chinese emperors in theor personal seals. The clip requires an estimated 4-5 weeks to be completed and costs around USD 5,600.

4) Swiss designer Roland then took nine to 18 months to produce his solid gold, mechanical belt buckle. At a price of USD 25,000, the belt buckle takes so long to produce because it uses the same manufacturing process as Geneva's renowned watch-making industry.

5) The Satya Paul Design Studio designes a unique necktie made of pure silk with a pattern in 150 grams of gold. It's also adorned with 271 diamonds weighing 77 karats in total. It was created for the Suashish Diamond group and priced at over USD 220,000.

6) The world's most expensive pen was designed by Caran d'Ache in 1999, to show respect to a famous architect named Antoni Gaude who passed away in 1926. Known as La Modernista Diamonds Fountain Pen, thepen contains solid gold tip and is enveloped in 5,072 specially cut diamonds.This pen also contains 96 rubies which form an emblem on the pens cap top. It was sold to a Swiss company for USD 265,000.

7) Icelink is offering what is likely the world's most expensive and outlandish set of custom-made car wheels ever produced. Covered with more than 12,000 diamonds and 800 sapphires, the set of four rims costs USD 1 million. Not only will you require a set of most extravagant rims ever created when you make this purchase, but you will also received a brand new Bentley Continental GT Coupe and one year bodyguard service for free.

8) How much is the most expensive Indian saree? Well, its USD 100,000. The stunning saree is meticulously woven with 12 precious stones and metals to depict 11 of Raja Ravi Verma's popular paintings. Explicitly projected is "Lady Musicians". The border of the saree portrays 10 other paintings that pays tribute to the 20th century artist. The best part of the saree being that the women in the paintings are intricately hand-woven and beautified with jewels, gold, diamond, platinum, silver, ruby, emerald, yellow sapphire, sapphire, cat's eye, topax, pearls and corals. 10) Want to get something for the missus? Well why not get the world's most expensive purse, valued at USD 64,800 by Hermes Birkin. Alternatively, you could just try and get your hands on one of the 24 numbered copies of Louis Vuitton's most expensive handbags, priced at USD 45,000. But remember, as with any LV accessory, a counterfeit can be had for just a few hundred bucks.

WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE FOOD

1) The spice saffron is derived from th saffron crocus flower. A pound of dry saffron (0.45 kg) requires 50,000-75,000 flowerd to make, meaning an entire football field of these flowers. Requiring so much resources and labor. Prices for the spice range from USD 1,100 - 11,000 per kilogram).

2) The most expensice nut in the world is the macadamia nut. The macadamia tree produces nuts only after it's 7-10 years old, requiring fertile oil and heavy rainfall. These nuts have a very hard seed, nut once it's open it receals a creamy white kernel containing up to 80% oil and 4% sugar. They cost more than USD 30 per kilogram.

3) The Beluga caviar, marketed as the almas caviar in Iran, is the most expensive caviar in the world. This is not the typical black one. The word "almas" is Iranian for diamond. Beluga caviar comes from a fish over 100 years old, that is virtually unchanged for 120 million years. The luxurious caviar comes from the oldest survivor of the dinosaur and ranges in price from more than USD 5,000 per kilogram in the US.

4) The most expensive mushroom in the world is the white truffle. The mushroom has its origins in the Langhe area of the Piedmont region in northern Italy and are sold between USD 2,900 and USD 5,800 per kilogram. The record price for this truffle was USD 330,000 for 1.5kg of truffles, paid by Stanley Ho, casino owner in Macau.

5) The French potato "La Bonnotte" is the most expensive potato in the world. Each year, only 100 tons of this top quality potato are cultivated and collected solely on the island Noirmoutier. The potato fields must be fertilised only with seaweed in a climate shaped by the nearby sea. Since this type of potato is almost extinct, the cost of a kilogram can reach up to USD 725.

6) The worlds most finest and most expensive coffee is Kopi Luwak. The coffee comes from the Indonesian island of Sumatra and the total annual production is only around 500 pounds of beans. It's priced at USD 300 per pound or more.

7) At a whopping price of USD 12,000, the most expensive pizza is found in Italy with generous toppings of caviar and lobster. The pizza has a diameter of 20cm and Louis XIII Remy Martin cognac poured over it.

8) The most expensive omelette in the world costs USD 1,000 and consists of 10 ounces of sevruga caviar, a whole lobster, and six eggs. It can be ordered at the Le Parker Meridien restaurant in New York.

9) The Chocopologie by Knipschildt is the most expensive chocolate in the world. It is only available through order and costs USD 2,600 per pound. This handmade chocolate truffle contains a black truffle and 70% Valrhona cacao.

10) The current record for the most expensive tea is held by a rare Chinese green tea called Tieguanyin, which costs USD 3,000 per kilogram, approximately USD 15 for a single cup.

WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE TOYS

1) The most expensive Barbie doll was not created for sale but has benn valued at USD 95,000. It features a total of 318 diamonds weighing in at 20.66 carats. Forty-four of the gems decorate her dress while the rest adorn her white gold accessories.
2) A doghouse created by Sanrio in Tokyo has 7,600 Swarovski crystal beads and is large enough for a Chihuahua or terrier. This miniature canine palace was created with the luxury couches made for larger dogs in mind. The doghouse sold for a reasonable USD 31,660.
3) The Breda M37 8mm Machine Gun replica by Real Action Paintball costs USD 4,999. This custom made replica can fore in semi-automatic, short burst and full auto modes. Being customade, it takes four weeks to be built and delivered.
4) Japanese toymakers Bandai teamed up with well-known jewellers Ginza Tanaka to produce the action figure Gundam Fix Platinum, valued at around USD 250,000. Representing two years of work on the part of its creators, this expensive toy is made almost entirely of platinum. 1400 grams of pure platinum were used in the 89 parts that make up this figure. Oh, and a .15 carat diamond was used in the camera eye on the figure's head.

5) The most expensive Star Wars memorabilia is the Darth Vader helmet originally worn by Olympic fencing champion Bob Anderson in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. It was created to give Anderson clearer vision while he crossed lightsabers with Luke Skywalker. The helmet was auctioned for USD 115,000 in 2003.

6) The world's most expensive surfboard is designed by Australian Marc Newson. The boards were plated in nickel and polished to a mirror finish to reduce drag. Originally sold of USD 100,000 a piece, one sold at a Sotheby's auction in NYC for a record breaking USD 220,000.


7) To commemorate their 40th anniversary, as well as their four billionth car, Hot Wheels commissioned jeweller Jason of Beverly Hills to coat an 18k white gold casting of their Custom Otto with over 2,700 blue, white and black diamonds. It's tail lights are actually rubies. Underneath the hood of the car, the familiar Hot Wheels logo is also given the diamond treatment. It is valued at USD 140,000.

8) There is the story of a yo-yo which was presented to President Richard Nixon at the Grand Ole Opry in 1974 by country singer Roy Acuff. The president reportedly attempted signing the yo-yo and giving it back to Acuff and when Acuff died in 1992, the yo-yo was solf for USD 16,029.
9) The most expensive Monopoly set was created by jeweller Sidney Mobell. It was crafted with rubies, diamonds, sapphires and 23k gold. Even the dice are encrusted with diamonds. Believe it or not, this Monopoly set is worth USD 2 million, certified by Guinness World Records.

10) The world's most expensive Gameboy is made of 18K gold and the display screen is surrounded by diamonds. Available through Swiss Supply and created by Aspreys of London, this little toy will set you back a playful USD 25,000. It it's any consolation, for that price you will also get a case, cables and a few games.
